Hi! My name is Larissa. I'm a college student with flexible online classes who is passionate about helping children grow and develop, which led me to become a childcare provider. With over five years of experience, I'm known for my patience and calm demeanor, making me a friendly face that children feel comfortable approaching. I also have experience with Montessori style caregiving, special needs, trauma and based parenting! Whether it's outdoor games or educational activities, I enjoy engaging with children in a variety of ways. I prioritize open communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's day and addressing any concerns they may have. By following the parents' lead on rules, I ensure a consistent and nurturing environment for the children in my care. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In my journey of caring for children, I have gained valuable experience that prepares me well for a nanny position. I have a 10-year-old foster sister with special needs, whom I frequently care for. This role has taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of individualized attention to meet her unique needs. Additionally, I have volunteered at hospitals in the pediatric unit, where I interacted with children in various situations, providing support and comfort during their stay. These experiences have not only strengthened my caregiving skills but have also deepened my passion for nurturing and supporting children in a positive and loving environment.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love engaging children in a variety of activities that are both fun and educational. Playing outside is a favorite, whether it’s games or nature walks. I enjoy sensory activities like playdough and water play, which spark creativity and exploration. I also incorporate educational games, reading, and creative projects like drawing and crafting, fostering a balanced environment where children can learn and have fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny for me is fostering a loving and supportive environment where children feel safe and valued. I believe in building trust and strong connections, as this allows children to thrive emotionally and develop their confidence. What matters most is being attentive to their individual needs, promoting their growth, and encouraging their curiosity and creativity every day.

My experience with special needs children...

I have valuable experience working with children with diverse special needs, including ADHD, autism, and those who have experienced severe trauma. Through my time caring for my foster sister with special needs, I have developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges these children face. I focus on creating a supportive and nurturing environment tailored to their individual needs, utilizing strategies that promote calmness, structure, and positive reinforcement. My goal is to foster their growth and development while ensuring they feel safe and understood.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite sweet nanny moments was with a little 3-year-old girl I nannied who had a special tradition with me: we would ride every merry-go-round we could find! We would even visit places specifically to look for them. Hearing her joyful laughter as we spun around was the most heartwarming sound. Those moments of pure happiness and excitement truly highlighted the magic of our time together and created lasting memories that I cherish.
