I taught for 20 years, mostly middle and elementary school. I enjoy watching that burst of joy as a child learns a new skill or discovers something new.

The zoo is a favorite destination, as are the many museums in town. At home I love to read with kids, and encourage them to play outside. I'm also fond of doing keepsake art with kiddos as that is something I wish I'd had more energy for when mine was tiny!

The most important thing in nannying is making sure that the children are safe and well-cared for. Building a positive relationship with both the kids and the parents makes that easier. Working as a team, we can all keep the kids safe and happy.

My absolute favorite moment nannying was being there when baby said her first word. Mom, dad, and I were all standing around discussing something, and baby took mama's face in her hands and said, "Hi!"
