The most important part about being a nanny...

Providing the same care that their parent would provide. Giving parents that sense of relief knowing that their child is okay. Someone is in trusting you with their child’s life I love to handle it with care.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve cared for kids who are non verbal, ADHD, on the spectrum, PTSD, ADD, RAD, Down syndrome. I’m ok with changing briefs and feeding kids. I’ve haven’t dealt with feeding tubes but I know how to give medication and I’ve also helped with a collapsed esophagus so I had to serve thick it drinks.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I don’t have a nanny moment but I enjoy when I come into work or when I’ve been off for a while the kids call my name and run and hug me! They trust me and respect me that lets me know I’m doing my job and providing the care they need but also providing that safe structure for them. They know my rules are my rules (we clean up before we move on to a new activity, we treat our friends with respect and have safe hands and safe words) things like that.
