Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a long term substitute in the Attleboro School District for several years, ran the PTO for four years and taught Sunday School. As a stay at home mom while raising my children, I watched my friends children in my home.
As a teen, I was a live-in nanny in Westport, traveling several times with their family.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I LOVE to be outside as much as possible. Going on walks, to the playground, taking hikes and doing nature scavenger hunts. Water play, sidewalk chalk, bubbles and shadow drawing are also some of our favorite activities. Indoors I love to incorporate music, art (the messier the better), Play Dough (we often make our own), dramatic play, coloring and creative arts and crafts into age-appropriate learning time.
My experience with special needs children...
The first time I worked with special needs children was as a long term (entire school year) substitute teacher. It was by far the most rewarding experience I had while working in the Attleboro School District. I worked with children with a variety of learning disabilities.
This past January I began working with the sweetest four year old. He is nonverbal, on the spectrum, and needs constant guidance. I introduced both C and his family to basic ASL signing. This has been a "game changer"! He is now able to communicate with much less frustration. I have brought him to several doctors appointments (including a final AFO fitting).
I have also assisted in potty training.
