A little bit about me

I have been working in Early Childhood Education as a lead teacher or nanny for the last 21 years. I have worked with infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school aged children in a variety of settings. I began at a five star child care center that used the Reggio Emilia approach, which focuses on child-centered, experiential learning. This has deeply informed my work with children in the years since. Throughout my career I have also worked as a preschool lead teacher and a nanny.
I am currently teaching at an art and design based preschool. Here I foster creativity and promote early development in problem solving, critical thinking, cognitive concepts, social interaction and increased physical health through art-making and the exploration of the world’s many forms of visual art. Students are encouraged to view art as a means of self-expression and a tool for learning.
I am passionate about working with children and believe that it is the most important work I could be doing.
