I'm 28 years old, and I'm originally from Texas where I was blessed to care for two amazing children for 4 years, I miss them dearly! Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over 10 years experience caring for and teaching children both in and outside of the home. I worked with special needs children as a teachers assistant for two Years at a middle school in Louisville, KY. I was a long term nanny for a family of 4 for 3 years in Lubbock, TX. I also worked in an at home daycare in my hometown for several years, and I've worked as a sitter on an as needed basis since I was 13. I've worked and can work with children and teens of all ages, but most of my experience is with children/infants 0-6 years old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to do arts and crafts or any other creative activities, I'm also big on reading to the children, and letting them read to me! I like to play audiobooks as well. Puzzles are always fun, I'm a Legos nerd! Coloring, talking about our days, letting them help cook or bake, going to the park or just playing in the back yard with their favorite toys, if you have pets and it's okay, I like to include them too!

The most important part about being a nanny...

A nanny is a little bit parent, a little bit teacher, and a little bit best friend!

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with and cared for children on the spectrum, as well as children with Down syndrome. I've cared for both verbal and non verbal children, as well has children who utilize a wheel chair. Most of my experience with special needs children is in a classroom setting, but I have worked with one child who was autistic through RBT in the home and I did that for 6 months. I also have family with special needs, so I am familiar with the level of care and time they need.

The most important part about being a nanny...

While I was with my last family, one of my kids, Jaylen, was watching Dora, he was about 4 at the time and didn't watch much tv, I don't think he had ever seen Dora before lol. So when Dora said "we need your help to find the tree on top of the big hill! Do you see the tree?" Jaylen very bluntly says to the tv "Are you serious right now? ITS RIGHT THERE DORA. RIGHT THERE." And I was trying to hold back my laugh and he turned around, looked at me, and said "Yeyah this is embarrassing." And I couldn't help but laugh, he's wise beyond his years and it definitely showed that day 😂
