I've been babysitting since I was 15, which was a fantastic way to earn money during high school while keeping my studies a priority. When I entered college, I took on a part-time nanny position with a wonderful family in my area. Now that I've graduated, I continue to work with them full-time during the week, and after four years together, they truly feel like a part of my family.

Being a nanny doesn't feel like a job to me; it’s incredibly rewarding. There's something profoundly fulfilling about caring for children. They possess a unique essence that many of us tend to lose as we grow older. I have been the nanny for a wonderful family for the past four years, caring for two delightful children: a vibrant 9-year-old girl and her adorable 6-month-old baby brother. I work with them full-time from Monday to Friday, and it has been a truly fulfilling experience.

I hold a degree in biochemistry, which fuels my passion for conducting science experiments with the children I care for. I love showing them just how fun science can be! As an avid reader, I also enjoy sharing stories and reading books with them, bringing tales to life through storytelling. Additionally, I have a knack for building with Legos and engaging in arts and crafts, making our time together both educational and creative.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most essential aspect of being a nanny is to care for and love the children as if they were your own, fostering a bond that they will cherish even as they grow older and move on. Equally important is encouraging independence; children absorb information quickly, and it’s vital to teach them how to handle tasks on their own while embracing responsibility. This helps ensure that they are well-equipped for adulthood, rather than feeling lost when they face the challenges of growing up.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a nanny occurred when I was discussing my schedule with one of the parents from the family I work with. I mentioned that I wouldn’t be available on a Saturday due to another babysitting gig when their little girl overheard and exclaimed, “I only want you to be my nanny, not anyone else’s!” Her honest jealousy made us all laugh, and while she was a bit upset about the idea of me caring for another child, it filled my heart with warmth and love to know how much she valued our time together.
