Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes over four years of babysitting and nannying for families with children ranging from infants to pre-teens, including siblings close in age and children with special needs such as autism and sensory processing challenges. I’ve managed daily routines, meal prep, bedtime, and developmentally appropriate play. In addition to paid work, I volunteer weekly at my local library reading to young children during story time and at my church, where I care for infants and toddlers up to 15 months old in the nursery. These experiences have strengthened my patience, communication, and ability to create safe, nurturing environments for children of all ages.

Activities I enjoy doing with children truly vary based on each child’s interests and needs, I love it all! Whether it’s imaginative play, crafts, reading stories, outdoor time, sensory activities, or helping with homework, I’m always happy to adapt and create a fun, engaging environment. My priority is making sure every activity is safe, respectful of household rules, and tailored to what works best for each child.

My experience with special needs children...

I have extensive experience working with children who have special needs or learning disabilities. In fact, about 50%, if not more, of the families I’ve worked with have had at least one child with diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, or developmental delays. I understand the importance of patience, routine, and individualized care in supporting each child’s unique needs and strengths.

Additionally, I helped raise my younger cousin for 2.5 years while he was in our family’s custody. He was nonverbal and had severe food aversions, so I gained firsthand experience using gentle, consistent strategies to support communication, build trust, and encourage safe feeding habits. These experiences have made me deeply compassionate, flexible, and well-equipped to provide thoughtful, attentive care to children with a wide range of needs.
