The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is seeing children grow and knowing that I am part of that journey. Watching them learn new skills, reach milestones, and develop their personalities is incredibly rewarding. I believe my role is not only to keep them safe and cared for but also to support their growth through patience, encouragement, and positive guidance. Being a consistent, loving presence in their lives and knowing I can make a difference in their development is what makes this work so meaningful to me.
My experience with special needs children...
My current host child has mild Cerebral Palsy (CP), and through this experience I’ve learned how to provide patient and attentive care. I supported their speech development and followed recommendations from their physical and occupational therapists to help with daily exercises and routines. I’ve found joy in celebrating small progress and making sure activities are both fun and supportive of their needs.
This experience has helped me grow in patience, communication, and I feel confident caring for children with special needs while following the guidance of parents and specialists.

Full-Time Nanny Available in Washington, DC: Samantha W.
Hi parents! My name is Samantha and I’m a college student majoring in Education with 7 years of childcare experience. I’ve cared for little ones as young as 2 months all the way up to teens age 17. I truly love working with kids of all ages and creating safe, fun, and nurturing environments for them to grow and learn. I’ve worked as an RBT, lead teacher, and assistant teacher, and I’ve also gained great experience at DC Preparatory Academy and Kindercare Learning Center. In those roles, I’ve worked in both traditional and inclusion classrooms, which gave me the chance to support kids with all different needs and learning styles. Those experiences taught me how to adapt, be patient, and make sure every child feels included, supported, and valued. I’d say I’m patient, energetic, and dependable. I love jumping in wherever I’m needed whether it's helping with homework, keeping kids entertained with fun activities, or giving parents peace of mind knowing their little ones are in good hands.
