More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
During my time as a High School student I volunteered as a science tutor with the SEIU Program. While parents attended workshops, I led science labs or readings for children ages 4-9. I also volunteered at the Children's Department for the Los Angeles Public Library as a clerk who would oversee the common rooms and summer held events.
Once I arrived at Chico State, I became a residential advisor for the Summer Trio Upward Bound program for High School students. I had a cohort of 12 students who I was responsible for both day and night at the dorms. During the morning, I would tutor subjects like Math, Physiology, English and Medical Terminology while the afternoon occupied my time in leading fun activities. Although exhausting at times, I loved my position as I could help make a small difference for all 372 students.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I personally love playing both in and outdoor, reading, tutoring, building Legos, painting, teaching my native Spanish language, and adapting to other possible activities!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part for me is being patient, understanding, but, most importantly adapting. A lot can be planned throughout the day, but if someone gets sick, or gets hurt, one must adapt to the stresses of sudden changes and take the best next step rapidly. My experience as a CNA has definitely trained me to act accordingly with sudden changes in residents care, or instances where one could get hurt.
My experience with special needs children...
I have not worked with special needs children directly before, but I do have extensive background in caring for Geriatrics. Working in Geriatrics has exposed me to the sudden ups and downs that can happen to the mind of someone who has no control. I consider myself to be someone who is very caring, compassionate, and patient with anyone who requires special needs attention.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I became a human prop for a play date as a cactus! I had front row seats to a private Rango show!
