A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Leslie! I’m a warm, dependable childcare professional with more than 30 years of experience caring for children and supporting families in childcare centers, in-home daycare programs, nanny positions, and private-duty care.

While I enjoy working with children of all ages, I especially love caring for infants and young toddlers. I enjoy creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, explore, and reach developmental milestones through reading, singing, dancing, sensory play, arts and crafts, and outdoor activities.

I believe getting to know each child and family is an important part of being a nanny. Building trust and understanding a family’s routines, preferences, and needs allows me to provide personalized care and become a dependable part of their support system. After more than three decades in childcare, I still find so much joy in watching children learn, grow, and discover the world around them. I look forward to getting to know your family!

DeAnna
"My time working with Leslie was relatively short, but she was an immense asset to our team at The Goddard School. She consistently demonstrated what it means to be a true team player. Leslie was always willing to support fellow teachers, welcome and encourage new staff, and suggest opportunities for team building. She also demonstrated excellent communication skills with both management and the families of the children in her care, maintaining professional and respectful relationships while remaining approachable and supportive. She was always willing to assist wherever needed, regardless of the teacher, classroom, or age group. Leslie is truly a ray of sunshine and one of everyone’s biggest cheerleaders. Her extensive experience is evident in the quality of her work and the genuine care she brings to those around her. I would gladly recommend Leslie to any family seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate caregiver."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over 30 years of professional experience providing compassionate, dependable care to children and families. Most recently, I worked at La Petite Academy, and throughout my career I have also worked with children at The Goddard School, Childtime, Bright Horizons, and several in-home daycare centers. In addition to my childcare experience, I have provided private-duty nursing care and nanny services for both children and adults. My extensive experience has allowed me to care for individuals of various ages and needs while creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy working with children of all ages, but my greatest passion and area of expertise is caring for infants and young toddlers. I especially enjoy engaging little ones through age-appropriate activities that encourage their development while allowing them to have fun. Some of my favorite activities include reading, singing, dancing, arts and crafts, sensory play, and spending time outdoors. I also enjoy following each child’s individual interests and developmental needs to create a nurturing, engaging, and enjoyable experience.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is taking the time to truly get to know both the children and the family I am caring for. Every child and family is different, and understanding their personalities, routines, preferences, values, and individual needs allows me to provide the best possible care. Building a trusting relationship with both the children and their parents is very important to me. When families feel comfortable and confident in my care, I am better able to support their children, maintain consistency, and create a safe, nurturing environment where they can thrive.

My experience with special needs children...

Throughout my 30+ years of childcare experience, I have had the opportunity to work closely with children and families with a wide range of developmental, behavioral, sensory, and medical needs. My experience includes supporting children with autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, food allergies and aversions, and other individual needs.

Over the years, I have developed a great deal of patience, understanding, and compassion when caring for children who may require additional support. I have also devoted time to learning more about various disabilities and developmental differences so that I can better understand each child’s needs and provide safe, nurturing, and individualized care. I believe in working closely with families, following their guidance and routines, and creating an environment where every child feels supported, comfortable, and valued.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I don’t have one particular moment that I would consider my favorite. Instead, some of my most rewarding moments are when I get to see a child make developmental progress in real time. I especially love watching children reach new milestones after we have spent time working together on specific skills.

One of my absolute favorite moments is hearing a child begin to speak or use new words after working on speech and vocabulary development. Seeing that excitement and knowing that I was able to play a small part in helping them reach that milestone is incredibly rewarding. Those moments are what continue to make working with children so meaningful to me.

Hi! My name is Maddy, and I am a young woman originally from Boston. I have about 2 years of childcare experience in both city and remote (ocean) environments. I have my B.S. in Recreation Management and have worked in Outdoor Education for a year and a half, as a nanny for 3 months(summer gig), and as a park ranger for a total of a year.
