My name is Lexi! I have almost 8 years of professional experience with children of all ages. I have the most experience with newborns and toddlers, but I'm comfortable caring for older children as well. I pride myself on my ability to work flexibly with parents, adjusting to their parenting methods and schedules. I strive to provide educational activities and experiences for the children in my care. I'm also a great cook who knows how to prepare healthy snacks and meals for growing kiddos. I used to work full time as a caregiver at an assisted living facility, and I loved it! I've found my calling in taking care of others, be them young or old. I just moved to Wheeling from Milwaukee with my cat, Soup, and we're loving the change of scenery! I enjoy reading, playing video games, sketching, and rock climbing in my free time. I love going out on adventures and day trips, and it's always rewarding when I can come up with fun going-out activities with the kiddos I care for.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I used to work at an assisted living facility up in Jackson, WI. I loved my residents, and even difficult or stressful days were extremely rewarding. To an extent, I feel this translates into childcare as well. Children and adults of all ages deserve respect and patience. My current job has me spending my afternoons with two AMAZING teenagers. They are involved with lots of activities and enjoy learning and keeping busy, so my time is usually spent driving them around and helping with homework. I do a lot of cleaning and organizing around the house and enjoy finding helpful projects to work on! Things like laundry and closet organization are, oddly enough, the most fun for me!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Snow forts, activity books, drawing, painting, play dough, chalk, walks, puzzles, blanket forts, video games, baking, art projects, dress up!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Loving those kiddos!
I'm not a parent yet, but I hope to be soon. I understand that it takes a huge amount of trust to put your children in the care of someone else. You expect your nannies and caregivers to give your children the same amount of love and respect you give them. I love each child I've ever cared for, and I'm so happy to have become part of the families I've worked with! It's a very special thing to have a job that you love, while being able to form lasting bonds and memories with those you work for/with.

My experience with special needs children...

I've only gotten the opportunity to work with one special needs child in my career. He required several medications throughout the day and a specific regimen to keep him stimulated and entertained. A little extra homework help was needed as well, and it was rewarding being able to help him work through assignments that were more difficult for him. I'm glad I was able to provide him with valuable one-on-one time!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I watched a pair of boys a few years back. They loved throwing dance parties and mix matching their pajamas into "fashion statements" and they would put on whole shows for me, showing off their fortnite dance moves. And they were awesome at it! Those boys were so funny and creative, I'll never forget it.
