More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve been babysitting since I was 12 years old and have experience with kids of all ages. From ages 13 to 16, I regularly watched two families during the summers, caring for children between 2 and 12 years old. From age 15 to 17, I worked as a camp counselor at Camp Shamineau, helping care for kids ages 5 to 15.
In the summer of 2024, I was a full-time nanny for a 2-year-old, summer of 2025 I was a full time nanny to four kids ranging from 4-12, and right now I’m a part-time after-school nanny for three kids ages 6 to 11. I also occasionally babysit for a family with a 6-month-old. I’m comfortable with all age groups and enjoy helping kids learn, play, and feel safe.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a nanny is about creating a safe, positive space for children. Key aspects include prioritizing their safety, building trusting relationships, and maintaining open communication. Adaptability, positive role modeling, and supporting developmental milestones are crucial. Establishing a structured routine, effective problem-solving, and respecting family values contribute to a child's growth. Professionalism, including punctuality and confidentiality, ensures a high standard of care. Ultimately, being a nanny is about providing a supportive environment for each child to thrive.

Hello! My name is Anika, and I grew up in a small town in Northern Minnesota. I recently graduated from Stony Brook University in New York with a degree in Political Science. I have been working in a teacher/childcare capacity since I was 15. I started as a dance teacher to 5-12 year olds, then becoming a nanny to 7-12 year olds over the summer. For the past three years, I have been a support teacher in a preschool classroom while working on getting my degree. I am looking for a nanny job during my gap years before heading to law school!
