More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I come from a big family, so caring for children has always been a part of my life. I began helping care for my younger siblings at a young age, which taught me responsibility, patience, and how to create a safe and fun environment for kids. Since I was 18, I've worked as a paid babysitter for two families on a long-term basis and have also provided occasional childcare for four additional families, mainly for date nights and as-needed care. In addition, I volunteer in the Pediatrics department at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, where I enjoy spending time with children and helping create a positive, comforting environment for young patients and their families. These experiences have strengthened my ability to care for children of different ages while keeping them engaged through activities like arts and crafts, baking, reading, and outdoor play.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing arts and crafts, baking, reading books, playing outside, going to the park, playing board games, building with blocks or Legos, doing fun science experiments, and encouraging imaginative play. I also enjoy helping with homework, taking walks, and finding creative activities that keep children engaged, learning, and having fun.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, trusting, and positive relationship with both the children and their families. I believe children need someone who is patient, dependable, and genuinely cares about their happiness and growth. Being a nanny means making sure children feel supported, listened to, and comfortable while also encouraging them to learn, explore, and have fun.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience caring for children with different needs through my personal and volunteer experiences. I have family members with autism, which has helped me develop patience, understanding, and the ability to recognize that every child has their own unique needs and ways of communicating. I have also volunteered in the Pediatrics department at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, where I have interacted with children from different backgrounds and with various medical needs. I always approach each child with kindness, patience, and a willingness to learn from parents about how I can best support their child.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moments are when children become comfortable with me and I start to see their personalities come out. I love when they get excited to see me, look forward to our time together, and feel safe enough to be themselves around me. Building that trust and connection with each child is one of the most rewarding parts of being a nanny.
