More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve worked with families long term, short term, and just for a specific day.
The biggest family I worked with had a family of 5 toddlers, 2 girls and 3 boys. We set boundaries for each other which allowed me to do my job efficiently and allowed them to be comfortable with me. I didn’t cook as the parents would come back before dinner time, but I made sure the house was clean as a nice fresh start for the parents. We would head out to the neighborhood playground, have snacks, finish up homework, and watch a little bit of tv (1hour max).

The most important part about being a nanny...
Is trusting your intuition and knowing it’s not a regular job where you can get away with doing the bare minimum. You’re dealing with little humans who have a mind of their own and anything can happen in a split second. Staying on your toes and being aware of your surroundings is crucial.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve worked with one adorable 4-5 year old girl consistently for two years, who was non verbal but showed her wants and affection through expressions and touch. She was highly intelligent and loved to dress up & sing. She hated getting her hair done and liked baths as long as the water wasn’t all over her face. She showed me that physically speaking is only one form of expression and opened my eyes up to all the other kinds of communication styles. She didn’t have any allergies or medication
