As I stated before, I’m an artist. So I love bringing art and any creative activity into the room (or outside), Whether it’s painting, drawing, reading, writing, singing or dancing. I can even provide my own art supplies.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think emotional intelligence and patience is #1. I’m good at this as a nanny because when I was a kid, I was so curious, and it would’ve helped me if the adults around me could explain things a bit more, such as the logic behind their actions or responses. I’ve learned in child development that understanding the reasoning and logic behind the parent/ adults action is extremely important for the child. It makes them feel respected which is equally as important to them as it is to us as adults. Now, sometimes there’s a lot to juggle and when you’re a parent, there’s not always the time and energy to thoroughly explain things to your kiddos. But I think that’s where I come in as a nanny who does have the time, and will talk things out and answer all of their questions and curiosities with care and attentiveness! So, in conclusion, I invert from the “because I said so…” phrase.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was showing a child a kid show I used to love as a kid that helped me become extremely musically inclined. He also loved it, and loves music. It just felt like a full circle moment.
