A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Lily, and I'm a junior at Columbia studying education and second language acquisition. I’m originally from California and have been in the city for 2 years. In high school, I worked full time as a nanny during summer for two families: one with a 6-month-old baby, and another with 3 children, including a newborn. I currently work part time as an ESL teacher for Chinese and Russian students. Additionally, I worked in Brazil last summer at an elementary school, teaching English and doing research on second language acquisition in children. I love working with kids and seeing them grow and learn.

Regarding my interests and goals, I have a passion for learning languages, and I speak 6 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Korean and Chinese. This upcoming semester, I will study abroad in Taiwan to fully learn Chinese. In the future, I want to continue doing research into second language learning. I also love drawing, playing video games, and exploring the city.
