A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Lily Reed. I'm a nineteen year old from Vermont who has been taking care of children for the majority of my life. When I was fifteen I spent four months as a camp counselor for children ages three to six. During this opportunity, I got to learn how to lead them through camp ensuring their safety. I also got to plan fun and engaging activities for them which included scavenger hunts, helping them create and perform a play, and create-your-own coloring sheets. This was a great opportunity for me to learn leadership and ensure that they had a great summer. This past summer I was a nanny for two kids ages two and four. Some of my favorite activities to do with them include playing outside, doing arts and crafts while sitting in the sun, playing in the sprinklers, watching movies, and building forts. My first experience with children was at the age of nine when I started watching my next-door neighbors and I continued being a nanny for them throughout high school. Since the age of ten, I have been a nanny to a group of six siblings. When I was fifteen I spent four months as a camp counselor for children ages three to six. I also got to plan fun and engaging activities for them which included scavenger hunts, helping them create and perform a play, and create-your-own coloring sheets. Some of my favorite activities to do with them include playing outside, doing arts and crafts while sitting in the sun, playing in the sprinklers, watching movies, and building forts. The most important part about being a nanny...

One memorable moment I had was about two years ago with this boy that I have known for most of my life and I started caring for him when I was about 12, so last year we went to the pool and it was so great to see how much he has grown and changed compared to when I started with him. Neither one of us could stop laughing when we were playing the pool; creating close knit relationships when you are with children everyday is essential and making as many fun memories with them as possible makes the bond stronger.
