Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have over a year of paid babysitting experience with children ages 2-10. These experiences have included: getting children ready for school; dropping off and picking up children from school and summer camp; occasional date nights, following a bedtime routine; and a few fun-filled hours during the daytime!
I am also currently employed as a kindergarten classroom aide in a nearby public elementary school. Prior to this position, I was an elementary school substitute teacher for grades K-5.

I love engaging children in meaningful play. I love: doing crafts, reading books; imaginary play both inside and outside; going for walks or riding bikes around the neighborhood; and visiting a playground or library. I will respect your wishes regarding screen time, and I am happy to plan screen-free activities for your children!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part about being a nanny is forming a relationship with the children and their family. You need to build a relationship based on trust and be kind, caring, responsive, and communicative. Additionally, I believe that ensuring the child's safety and well-being (while also ensuring that they're having fun!) is essential as well.

I have experience with high-functioning autism, both in my own family and in the classroom.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Last summer, I was babysitting two siblings: a five-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy. The girl wanted to have a royal tea party, so we set up the play food, plates, utensils, etc., and made paper crowns for the three of us. She then wanted her brother to be the king and wrote him letters to invite him to our tea party. I love children's imagination!
