A little bit about me

I live in Bozeman and work at Morning Star Elementary school as a para educator in a pre-k class, working with children aged 4-5, as well as a 4th grade class every Friday ages 9-10. I have always loved working with children as they bring me a sense of joy and I love being able to foster and support growth and development as a person. I am lucky enough to have had a step father who was an elementary school teacher and I began volunteering in his classrooms when I was 11 (12 years ago) I have learned so much and am hoping to continue working with children through the summer while I am on vacation from working at the school.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have volunteered at elementary schools, I have had multiple consistent babysitting jobs while in Colorado; I was a lead infant teacher (6 weeks to 1 year) for 2 years at KinderCare in Broomfield Colorado. I worked worked at the Daycare Academy in Bozeman for a year in the infant and toddler room (10 weeks to 2 1/2) and I am not lucky enough to work as a para in a pre k classroom.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing creative and engaging activities with children like arts and crafts, outdoor play, reading stories, imaginative play, baking simple treats, helping with homework, and finding fun ways to keep learning exciting. I love creating a safe environment where kids can have fun, explore, and feel encouraged. I swam and danced when I was a kid so I love things to do with water and things like dance parties, I also played quite a few instruments so musical based activities are always fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and dependable environment where children feel comfortable, supported, and cared for. Building trust with both the children and parents while encouraging growth, kindness, and fun is something I value deeply.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children with autism, Down syndrome, and developmental or cognitive delays. These experiences have taught me how important patience, consistency, and understanding are in supporting each child’s unique needs. I enjoy creating a safe, positive environment where children feel comfortable, supported, and able to grow.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Not necessarily a nanny moment but while working with the kids at school I created an activity after reading a book about sailboats where the kids could decide how they wanted to build their own, they drew a picture of their concept and picked all of the materials they wanted to use. They built the boats and we tested floating them; it was so fun watching their reactions to which boats sank and which floated; and that I was able to help them realize its okay if things dont work the first time.
