More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been babysitting for 11 years now, not counting taking care of my siblings (I am the oldest). I was an events lead from 14-18 where I ran summer camps, birthday parties and any other event for the company. From ages 16-18 I was a gymnastics coach for kiddos. Age 18-20 I was a Registered Behavior Technician where I worked 1:1 with a child diagnosed with Autism. Age 20-Present I have been an Events Manager where I still run the summer camps, parties, etc. but now also plan and organize the entire event.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I have an immense amount of experience planning activities for kiddos to do. Arts and crafts, science experiements, baking, board games, pretend resturant etc. I feel it is always best to be engaged with kiddo's and to particapate and play with them!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I belive the most important part about caring for children is two things, these are my top priorites always. To be safe and to have fun. Safety will always be my number one priority when it comes to kids. I will constantly make sure there isn't any potential hazards in the way when we are starting a game/ activity.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked as a registered behavior technician for children diagnosed with autism. I would go through the day managing behaviors and working towards their goals!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Some camp kiddos would only come during the summer. When working with kids, you need to have a good memory and hold on to the little things. I would often remember kids after a year of them attending a camp and great them by name at the door. When I would tell them "good morning ____", their entire face would light up and would ask me how I remembered them. Making a child feel important and special over simply remembering their name is one of the best feelings I've had.
