More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
One of my significant moments as a nanny was with Nico, a child in my last family. When his parents returned from Brazil, my schedule changed, and I started waking him from his nap instead of putting him down. Nico struggled with separation anxiety and would wake up crying, thinking his parents had left him.
I developed a strategy to reassure him, explaining that his parents would return soon and we had fun plans for the day. I found that giving him a soothing massage helped him relax and fall back asleep. Over time, this routine helped Nico adjust, and he stopped waking up anxiously.
This experience taught me the importance of empathy and patience in comforting children during times of transition or separation anxiety. It underscored the value of establishing reassuring routines that help children feel secure and supported.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Things I like to do with kids include visiting museums and parks, where they can interact with other children and explore new environments. I also enjoy taking them to the library, where they have lots of options for activities and can develop a love for reading, which I believe is very important.
Engaging in various activities with the kids is a priority, and I always consider the parents' preferences and guidelines. I also love playing sports, spending time in the backyard, and encouraging outdoor play. In the summer, it's especially great to go outside, take walks, and watch them ride their bicycles. These activities not only keep the children active but also provide opportunities for learning and fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite and funniest moments as a nanny happened while I was playing UNO with two sisters I was caring for at the time. The girls were 7 and 4 years old, with the 4-year-old, Tatum, just learning how to play the game. As a 20-year-old, I knew the game well and had won the last four rounds. The 7-year-old was determined to beat me, but to our surprise, Tatum won the game!
She had been paying close attention to everything happening around her and developed a strategy to win. When she put down her last card, we were all astonished and delighted. It was such a proud moment because she had worked hard to understand the game and win all on her own, without anyone's help. Everyone was so happy for her, and I was especially proud because it was something she had been striving to achieve for a long time, both for herself and to impress her sister. It was a great and memorable moment.
