A little bit about me

Hi, I'm Liz!

As a musician and teaching artist, I've spent years working with kids and watching ordinary moments turn into the ones they talk about for weeks: a silly song that becomes their favorite, a backyard adventure that sparks a whole new curiosity, or a game that ends in unstoppable laughter. I'm intentional about being present, following their lead, and helping them build real confidence along the way.

Families I've worked with know they can count on me, not just for the fun stuff, but for reliability, safety, communication, and ensuring their kids feel genuinely cared for. I'm happy to help with meals, tidying, and whatever else makes home life run a little smoother.

Oh, and I'm a huge animal lover, so furry family members are always welcome in the fun!

I'd love to meet your family. Feel free to reach out anytime!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started babysitting as a teenager and discovered a natural connection with kids. That spark led me to study early childhood education in college, where I found a way to weave in my love of music and eventually build a career as a teaching artist and professional kid-centric entertainer.

Along the way, I've cared for kids at every age and stage, from newborns to teenagers. That range has taught me how to read a room, meet kids where they are, and adjust on the fly.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Music is at the heart of everything I do, and my favorite part is handing kids the mic and encouraging them to use their own authentic voice. I love helping them make up silly songs, putting on a living room concert, or just singing loudly on the way to the park.

The outdoors is my natural element. I love exploring, hunting for bugs, using trees as hiding spots, or simply slowing down to notice what's growing underfoot. Nature has a way of turning an ordinary afternoon into a real adventure.

Cooking with kids is one of my favorites too. There's something magical about letting them see where food actually comes from and what goes into making it.

Imaginative play is one of the most genuine ways I build connection with kids. Paired with drawing, arts and crafts, puzzles and games, there's always something to discover that boosts creativity and joyful learning.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Above all, I want every child in my care to feel safe and seen. That stems from practical caregiving and showing up with genuine, capacious curiosity about who they are. I want them to feel comfortable in knowing they always have my full attention.

My experience with special needs children...

I've worked with children with ADHD, autism, sensory processing differences, and physical disabilities. Some of my most meaningful work has been with kids on the autism spectrum, where I've seen firsthand how music can open doors that other approaches simply can't. For children who struggle to speak or connect with peers, music becomes a powerful equalizer and a way to communicate, express, and belong.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One afternoon I was caring for three 5-year-olds at a playground near a creek when one of them announced she had to go 💩 urgently and we were nowhere near a bathroom. I improvised a makeshift outdoor potty by the water, and the moment she settled in, the other two said they needed to go too! So there we were, three kids in a row, completely unbothered. Thankfully I'd had the forethought to pack extra wipes that day. Ha!
