During a summer internship, I had experience helping supervise and care for children in a group setting. I helped keep the kids engaged throughout the day, assisted with activities, made sure they stayed safe, and helped create a positive and supportive environment. That experience taught me patience, responsibility, communication, and how important it is for children to feel comfortable and cared for. I really enjoyed building connections with the kids and being someone they could trust and have fun around.

I love doing outdoor activities with children because I’m a very outdoorsy person myself. I enjoy going on walks, visiting parks, playing games outside, bike riding, sidewalk chalk, scavenger hunts, and just keeping kids active and engaged instead of always being on screens. I also enjoy creative activities like arts and crafts, baking, reading together, and helping with homework when needed. I like creating a fun, positive environment where kids can learn, laugh, and feel comfortable being themselves.

One time after helping one of the young boy clean up his toys and calm down after a rough day, he randomly looked at me and said, “You’re like a human teddy bear.” It completely caught me off guard and was honestly one of the sweetest things ever. Five minutes later he tried to “pay” me with crackers and a sticker to try getting out of sleeping. just the random things kids learn and come up with truly warms me up to see it.
