More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 13+ years of professional experience working with children in Montessori school settings, primarily with toddlers and children ages 18 months to 6 years. My roles have included both education and hands-on daily care, including meals and snacks, diapering and toilet learning, naps, dressing, hygiene, transitions, emotional support, age-appropriate activities, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.

I also have experience providing private in-home childcare, where I support children's daily routines while respecting each family's parenting style and household preferences.

My Montessori background has taught me to observe each child carefully, respond calmly and respectfully, encourage age-appropriate independence, and create engaging activities based on the child's individual interests and developmental needs. I am also fluent in both Japanese and English.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading books, arts and crafts, puzzles, music and movement, outdoor play, nature walks, and simple hands-on activities. I especially enjoy following each child's interests and creating age-appropriate activities that encourage independence, creativity, language development, and practical life skills. I also love involving children in everyday activities such as preparing simple snacks, cleaning up, and caring for their environment.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is building a trusting relationship with both the child and the family. I believe children thrive when they feel safe, respected, and understood. I value open communication with parents and respect each family's values, culture, routines, and parenting approach. My role is to support the family, not impose my own way of doing things, while using my experience to provide thoughtful, individualized care. My goal is to become a trusted partner to the family and help their child grow in confidence and independence

My experience with special needs children...

While I do not specialize in special needs care, I have worked with children with a variety of developmental, behavioral, and learning needs in Montessori classroom settings. I approach each child as an individual, with patience, respect, careful observation, and consistent routines. I am always willing to learn about a child's specific needs and follow the family's and professionals' guidance.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite part of being a nanny is bringing Montessori education into the home and having the opportunity to focus on one child individually. I carefully observe the child's interests, needs, and development and use those observations to plan age-appropriate activities and learning experiences. I especially enjoy supporting toilet learning one-on-one and adapting my approach based on the child's individual progress. Even in a nanny setting, I thoughtfully plan activities while allowing the child's interests and needs to guide our day.
