Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was apart of several programs back in high school where I helped the elementary school classrooms with children who were struggling at home and at school. I was there to be a role model and to be a friend to a struggling child.
I also have a 2 year old niece and a 6 month old niece who I watch and care for often!
The last year I also nannied for a few months in the fall for a family in Albany.

I love being outdoors, swimming, going for walks, going to a park! I am also very craft so coloring, painting, or any other crafts are very fun!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe space for the child. Being left alone with someone you don't know is a very scary feeling and being able to create a safe and fun space for the child is important.
My experience with special needs children...
I do have a 2 year old niece with autism who is non verbal and has other health issues. I have babysat her several times and I am very patient and understanding when she is overwhelmed or can't explain what she wants.
