More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have volunteered with the IHoopToo Foundation, working with young girls aged 6 and above. Additionally, I have had experience babysitting for my family members and neighbors, caring for children aged 11 months to 12 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love reading with the kids and I am a creative person so many activiites that I can get hands on for them to do and express themselves I will. I love outdoor activities, well, anything where I can get them moving is great to me, but I can manage to do that as an indoor activity as well. My biggest focus is ensuring that they are always learning something while they are with me!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part about being a nanny is that you get to actively make a difference in a child's life, no matter the age. You get to be a part of the process to help them grow into the people that they are meant to be. And it truly does take a village to raise a child. Exposing children to all walks of life and all ideas opens up doors in so many ways that allow them to grow and develop, and if there is any way that can be done on a close-to-home basis, being a nanny sure is the best way to do it.

My experience with special needs children...

I have had the opportunity in the past to work with children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in this time I did not have to care for them, but I got to work along side them for a company that was built in my community to help them learn life skills and develop on the job skills as well, I would be honored to help any child or young adult with these needs have a fun, light, and smile filled experience daily. I also get to work with children and young adults with needs daily at my other job, where I am a Physical Therapy Technician, and I have the honor of helping them with their therapy and ensuring that their PT needs are being met and that we see active progress in their physical mobility

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was getting to play dress up with one of my kiddos. I remember she asked me "why do girls wear makeup?" and I remember telling her girls only wear makeup to enhance what is already there. And she smiled so big and went and grabbed a little makeup kit her mom had bought her and asked if I could do her makeup, how I did mine.
