I believe the most important part of nannying is patience. Children can be stubborn or overly sensitive at times, but being understanding, respectful, and calm will help the child through what is bothering them, versus disciplining them.

I have babysat for one child with special needs, he is on the autism spectrum. I have been watching him from ages 7 to 11 years old.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment while watching one of the kids I babysit for was when we went out for ice cream at Twistee Treat. The girl I was watching had taken the money her mom gave me for dinner that night and pretended to pay for us at the window like the “big girl” she is. It brought so much laughter to not only her and I but the employees and customers who overheard the interaction.
