More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In high school, I regularly babysat preschool & elementary age children, and I participated in mentoring programs for elementary age students all four years. I was also a lifeguard for a few summers. In college, I was a summer counselor for middle & high school students with Longhorn Music Camp. I also student taught 5th, 8th, and 12th graders, and I full-time taught 9th grade English.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love fostering creativity and creating core memories. It’s important to me that kids have time set apart for play and exploration, and I prefer hands-on activities like coloring books, puzzles, reading aloud, crafting, age-appropriate cooking and baking, and outdoor activities, from running in the sprinklers to the park to the neighborhood pool. I enforce expectations around screen time but embrace the fun that, say, karaoke, trivia, or multiplayer games bring to the table through tech.
My experience with special needs children...
In high school, I regularly babysat a child with nonverbal autism, so I have a general understanding and familiarity with children with autism. My youngest sibling, with whom I helped often, has ADHD, so I'm really familiar with ADD/ADHD traits and helpful routines. As a teacher, I'm pretty comfortable working with ADHD students and students on the spectrum. However, even though I'm familiar with these types of neurodiverse children, I can't pretend to know absolutely everything about every diagnosis or trait. But I will work hard to learn and dig deep on how to care and support exactly for your family as they require.

Live-In Part-Time Nanny Available in Austin, TX: Sarah G.
Hey, I’m Sarah.
I’m currently in college studying business and I’m looking for some nannying jobs. I am outgoing, patient, quick learner, active, and organized. My past babysitting/ nannying position was 3 kids ranging from 2 months- 5 years. I helped out around the house, took kids on outings, make sure the kids had everything they needed. The parents had work majority of the days so I helped throughout the week. The other babysitting job was last summer nannying a 5 year old, I was there M-F doing chores around the house, running errands, going on outings, swimming, and etc. I really enjoyed my times nannying I feel like I can have fun and flexibility if needed. I’m available any day and anytime throughout the week.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Austin, TX: Trinity P.
Hi! My name is Trinity Pena! I am 22 years old and I am originally from El Paso but moved to Austin to pursue my bachelors degree in Biology! Spending majority of my time around children has influenced and motivated me to become a Pediatrician! I love being around children, they give me great happiness and feel like I learn from them just as they learn from me too. Growing up with a little brother, it taught me a lot of the skills that I now apply when around kids. With that being said, I've cared for a wide range of children with ages ranging from newborns-teens as well as dogs, cats, reptiles... you name it, I've done it! I am a big social person so always love meeting new families and little ones. To be this satisfied with what I do as I pursue my academic career is truly the best of both worlds!
