I am a current high school special education teacher. I have nannied for twins from the ages of 2months - 2 years, and then occasional babysitting until the age of 4. I have experience with middle aged children as well as adults with varying needs.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I LOVE reading, going for hikes and just being outside, doing crafts, playing make believe, etc. Anything a child loves to do, I probably love it too.
The most important part about being a nanny...
is building a relationship with the family and truly understanding what’s important to them. Being a nanny is helping to raise the children, so you have to be aligned with what the parents want and need for their children.
My experience with special needs children...
I have not cared for children with high needs, but I do have experience with adults with high needs. I am also certified as a cross categorical special education teacher and am very willing and able to learn!
The most important part about being a nanny...
there’s too many to count! I built a phenomenal relationship with my twins’ parents and I am still in contact with them today. I have so many memories with the twins.
