A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Madelynn and I am a recent college graduate from Geneva College! I have been working with children ages 0-18 since I was 16 years old. I have been employed through the YMCA for 5 years as a lifeguard and childcare provider, and have other experiences working with children through internship placements, mission trips, babysitting, and working in a church nursery. This past semester I had a placement in a elementary charter school working with children to help provide speech and language therapy. I have also worked at a summer YMCA camp as a lifeguard/camp counselor, providing supervision for children in grades K-6th. I love working with children and have a passion for providing care for others in any way that I can! I am also very reliable and work great with others. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a YMCA lifeguard/childcare provider this past summer for children ages K-6th grade. I helped to supervise the children throughout the day as well as well as attend to each child's cares/needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being active. I love books, reading, coloring, exploring, doing puzzles and so much more! I like to find out what the children's interests are to try and plan activities that would spark their interest and what they might enjoy.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is making sure the children are being well cared for. I make sure that I give the best care to each child I come in contact with in order to make sure that they are being well cared for and attended too.

My experience with special needs children...

I spent a month in 2019, in Uganda, working specifically with children with disabilities, to help provide speech and language services to them. I was able to care for the children and their families as they waited in the waiting room, to receive services as well as in the actual clinics.
