More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My parents have always put responsibility on my for my younger siblings, which is where I learned how to care for them. from a young age. I have a big family with lots of little cousins, so I find myself babysitting newborns, as well as multiple children. (I have 47 second cousins on one side) I love kids of all ages!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I’m up for any adventure! Indoor, outdoor, learning, exploring, or just trying something new! Since I am looking to be an Elementary teacher, I do like to play a lot of learning games with kids as well and practice my social-emotional work.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny in my opinion is making the family feel comfortable with knowing their child is safe. It is important to meet the parents needs and be aware that you are working for them. Your job is to satisfy the parents for what they want for their child, and it is your job to keep the child safe and interact with them. You are there for the child and the child’s needs throughout the day.
My experience with special needs children...
I was part of a Peer Coaching Program for four years in high school, which was a club and an elective class offered. I fell in love with this career path after seeing so many smiles. I loved being a part of the class and focusing on the successes we made each and every day. I visted schools to provide instruction and observe the students, which was embedded in my college courses. I had a full internship year where I developed lessons in all core subject areas, differentiating my level of support and instruction while still adhering to the curriculum. I kept data-driven records that monitored student progress. I developed behavior supports for targeted students that improved performance and diminished outbursts and interruptions in EI setting. I worked with parapros, TAs, and behavior specialists. I have attended many FBA, PBSP, and IEP meetings. I documented behavior data collection, parent communication logs, and implemented instruction based on that extensive data collection.

Hi! I am the oldest of 4 kids and 18 grandchildren. Even before I started babysitting I helped my mom with my younger siblings. I have a passion for children and am not the sitter that will just put your child in front of the TV. I love doing arts and crafts, playing outside, and making sure the kids have fun while the parents are away. My goal is to always have the house cleaner than when the parents left :)

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Grand Rapids, MI: Elyse W.
My name is Elyse and I am 19 (almost 20). I’m looking for a full time nanny job to start around May/June of 2023.
I attended GVSU for 1.5 years and took several classes for child development and elementary education.
I have been babysitting since I was 12 for ages newborn- 12, and have always loved working with kids!
January 2022- August 2022, I nannied 2 boys, ages 3 and 1.
August 2022- now, I nanny a 4 month old girl.
I have younger siblings and cousins, some of which have special needs.
I believe routine is important for kids. I'm committed to caring for each child based on their needs.
I’m not cpr or first aid trained, but am willing to take classes!
I’m fully vaccinated and am willing to get a Covid booster if it’s required.
I have experience with allergies (dairy, gluten, nuts and eggs).
I am open to a nanny share situation. I understand affording a nanny is difficult. Splitting the costs with other families would be helpful for all parties involved! Thanks!
