Numerous babysitting jobs since I was 14 years old. My first job from age 16 until graduating high school was at the Kids Club inside the Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in Mckinney , Tx. Ages 18-21 I babysat weekly for 2 girls elementary age while i worked full time at a bakery. 22 I moved to Corpus Christi and worked part time at Portland Methodist Church as a sunday school teacher for 4/5 year olds . 23-26 I nannied for one family with a 6 month old and for one family with a 4 year old and 6 year old
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Going to the library is a must! Picking out books to read in the library, books to read at home. Arts & Crafts. Going to the park or riding bikes. Taking them to birthday parties. Free museum days. Any free kids activity that they enjoy! Helping with homework, helping them gain confidence in their intelligence/ abilities. Teaching them to clean up after themselves. Drawing /painting / making something nice to show their loved ones they’re appreciated.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I started nannying for one family , S was 4 yrs about to begin kindergarten. She couldn’t read on her own yet. Everyday that summer we went to the library and would spend hours there , picking out books to read, helping her begin to read out loud . She started off shaky and not cooperative but by the first day of kindergarten she was reading me multiple books before bedtime! Now she’s in high school and has been on the A honor roll every year since kindergarten!
