Hey y’all, my name is Maddie! I have about 10 years of experience with child care. I have had many babysitting jobs as well as working in a church daycare, private tutoring, and student volunteering with my schools special needs classroom. I myself have dyslexia and I love working with kids who also struggle with learning disabilities. This is because more often then not I can find ways to think outside the box with them. I am currently a cosmetology student and have school in the evenings so something part time would work perfect for me. I am extremely artsy and have a few arts and crafts tricks up my sleeve for the kiddos. I look forward to working with you and your little family!

My experience with special needs children...

I was a tutor for a young man with Asperger Syndrome for about a year. We worked mainly with his school work and finding obscure ways for him to comprehend the material. I was also a student volunteer for a mild special needs high school class. I worked with 5-15 students on any given day. I assisted in teaching lessons and worked with students to help better social interactions.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The little girl that I was taking care of wanted to play dress up and she wanted me to wear her Elsa costume so she could be Anna. The only problem was the dress was way to small! Luckily I lived close to the little girl I was taking care of and had a blue prom dress tucked in the closet. My little brother dropped the dress on the porch and we had the most fun running around “freezing” things in the house. The smile on that little girls face was worth every smug mark on the dress.
