More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Over the years I’ve cared for children from infancy through preschool, both in family homes and licensed daycare settings. I’ve supported little ones through milestones like potty training, language development, and social play, while also helping families keep consistent routines. My experience has also included preparing meals for children with dietary restrictions and planning age-appropriate activities that spark creativity and growth.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love planning activities that are fun and meaningful for children’s growth. Exploring the city is a favorite, whether at parks, libraries, children’s museums, or the zoo. In San Francisco, we used public transportation, and our toddlers quickly picked up on routes and stops. Parents were amazed that kids recognized where they were going.
Reading is another big part of my time with kids, and I choose books that help them learn about themselves and their feelings. Two favorites are The Way I Feel and In My Heart: A Book of Feelings. I read them repeatedly, act out emotions, the kids join in. Over time, they sit with the books themselves, mimic words, and eventually express their own emotions. Hearing a child say “I feel frustrated” or “I’m a little jealous” shows they’re learning to understand and communicate what they feel.
For me, activities are never just filling time, they’re opportunities to teach, explore, and help children feel capable, safe, and proud.

The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part of being a teacher is helping children feel capable, curious, and supported in exploring the world around them. Whether we’re going on adventures around the city, reading books about emotions, or trying STEM experiments, every activity is an opportunity for learning and growth. It’s about building trust and consistency, guiding routines, and creating predictable spaces where children feel safe to explore and express themselves. I love seeing children gain confidence in their abilities, and develop a sense of pride in what they discover. Being a teacher isn’t just about activities; it’s about fostering curiosity, independence, and emotional understanding, while nurturing a supportive relationship that children and families can rely on. These principles didn’t come to me all at once through my experiences and the courses I’m currently taking to expand my knowledge in early childhood education, I’m proud to say they form an ideology I wholly believe in.
My experience with special needs children...
I cared for a child with autism for two years, a few years back. In the beginning, he was very cautious around me and mostly stuck to his games while I prepared meals and guided his evening routine. With time and consistency, he started opening up asking very specific questions. During our last year together, we spent our time baking, playing boards games and him trying, and failing, to teach me how to play online games.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite teaching moments was babysitting for a long-time family on Saturday mornings. I’d spend about four hours with her before her first nap (if she would take it), helping her get ready and then going on our “Saturday Funday.” We’d start with a short train ride from her neighborhood, stop by Subway and a small grocery store, and then head to the “big park.” At the park, we’d go from the swings to the small grey spinner, then the play structure, the green spinner, and back to the swings. Eventually we’d take a water break and talk about something new she had learned at her new school. Afterward, we’d walk to the water for a picnic and play by the water after. We would finish our morning at the library before heading home. I loved these days because of the mix of structured activities, exploration, and the chance to connect and see her curiosity grow after aging out the program. (Based in SF)
