More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My mother had registered home (daycares in our home) while I was growing up and my grandmother owns two childcare facilities in the Longview area.
I grew up helping in church nursery and Sunday school classes and began being called-upon to babysit for families setting at age 14.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love planning social-emotional and developmentally appropriate activities for the child’s age group.
Infants engage with more one-on-one, simple activities that build their muscle manipulation skills, language, gross and fine motor skills, and mood regulation.
Toddlers thrive on structure and communication. Planning activities and games that help build their communication abilities and emotional awareness is key.
Pre-k kiddos enjoy big movement activities like obstacle courses, races, and charade games. This stage is great for exploring and explaining big and small things about their giant world! Building with blocks, arts and crafts, and sensory play with kinetic sand or play doh are great too!
Older kiddos get more independent as they age up, but they all still need guidance, support, and encouragement. Simple and specially-tailored activities are my go-to for big kids. They are so individualized and have discovered many of their likes.

My experience with special needs children...
We had many different colors, shapes, and kinds of differences between some of the children I cared for in childcare. Some were non verbal, some were unable to feed themselves or have a ‘normal’ type of diet, some were in walking assistance gear or in wheelchairs, and every kind of in between.
