The most important part about being a nanny...
is making sure that the kids you're taking care of feel safe and loved. Kids are intelligent and deserve just as much respect as adults. It's important as a nanny to not go into a nannying job with a superiority complex. You are the one who has to take the initiative to make sure those kids trust you and feel safe around you. You don't gain that privilege the minute you're hired.
My experience with special needs children...
I specifically haven't worked with specials needs children, but I grew up with and befriended many when I was younger! I'm familiar with the dynamic and so it wouldn't be too much of an adjustment for me.
