My experience with special needs children...
At my most recent job we had kids with special needs and it was hard at times especially when parents didn't tell us their kids had special needs, but it was interesting to see how they processed their emotions and how they interacted with other kids. Working with kids who have special needs teaches you something new about yourself and about them as well.
