Hi there! I'm Maiya

I am seeking a flexible family for part time hours to support my current hours with another family. I will also be looking ahead to 2027 for full time opportunities!

I have spent the last 7 years working with kids in many different capacities from a full-time nanny, part-time babysitter and more. I'm a big sister to two and a passionate caretaker

- I am CPR/First Aid trained from my time as a lifeguard. Safety is my number one priority

- Language and education are very important to me as well as time spent outside and hitting those developmental milestones

- I am a biology student and a, hoping to find a long term family with a 1-2 year contract

- I have my own vehicle for commuting to work but prefer to use a family vehicle for transporting kiddos

- I require certain job securities such as paid sick days, guaranteed hours, and vacation time

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Besides nanny positions I have volunteered with children at my church as well as watched my own siblings. I’ve done tutoring for grade-schoolers and piano lessons for different ages (having done piano for 10 years myself).

I am capable of private swim instruction as well!

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me personally, nannying and babysitting provides a chance to works within someone else’s expectations. Your child is of the utmost importance and meeting their scheduling and needs helps to build my own character as well. Helping out parents/guardians is also a gift in itself, I know how stressful life can sometimes get! The opportunity to open new doors and new views of the world to children is so precious. Teaching music, new languages, and even basic skills like kindness and service is the ideal way to give back to the rising generations.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked for about two months with an 11-year-old boy who had autism. I taught him to swim and get over his fears of the water and by the times we finished he was splashing around all on his own!

We’ve also had several autistic children come through out nursery program at Bethany Church.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love watching kids begin to grasp ‘adult’ skills like cooking, proper cleaning, and communication. With my current family it has been an express privilege to make breakfast in the mornings and build routines with a G2 and B4!
