Hi there. My name is Makenna, I’m currently a SAHM and hoping to find a part time infant/toddler nanny position that will allow me to bring my 13 month old. I have four years of nanny experience and ten plus years of babysitting, daycare, and classroom experience. I will be updating my CPR and First Aide certificates. Looking for Monday through Thursday until July; Monday through Wednesday during July/August. After august I will have more availability. Willing to do care in my home or yours. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve been babysitting since I was 11 on weekends, summers, and any free time available. I have been told I’m a natural with children and I believe I was called to watch children, because I find myself coming back to the profession. I am currently working as a Registered Behavior Technician, but hoping to nanny again.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

For the outside summer activities I like to take kids to the zoo, water parks, walks around the neighborhood, play at the play ground, and go to the aquarium. For winter outdoor activities, we would enjoy building snowmen, making snow angels and ice cream, and sledding. For the inside activities, I like to use play doh, legos, books, coloring pages, music, paint and many sensory activities. I love to incorporate imaginative and creative play as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe every kid is different, so the most important thing about being a nanny is being able to understand their needs. Every kid grows and learns at their own pace, and we shouldn’t push or rush them. Instead we need to encourage and support their needs. With every child I’ve watched, I’ve made sure they are loved, and feel seen/heard.

My experience with special needs children...

I previously worked as an RBT, with children who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have learned how to de-escalate behaviors, and move on from them, as well as teaching everyday skills; such as socialization, fine and gross motor skills, and food training.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny memory is all of them. I can’t put my finger on any single moment where I wasn’t in awe or loved what I was doing. Each experience I’ve had with kids I’ve cared for is amazing, and I love every second of it. Watching them learn and grow into respectful human beings is an amazing aspect of this job.
