Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing outdoor activities such as going to the park or on walks. I like to make scavenger hunts or something of the sort to help your child's imagination run wild and they will have fun in the process. I like to teach kids how to cook/make small treats or snacks themselves, they seem to enjoy the hands on experience of doing something they wouldn't normally do. I also like to go to the library to relax and read for a bit of wind down time before lunch or a nap. I would also be 100% open to suggestions from the child or parent on fun things they would enjoy doing!
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me the most important thing about being a nanny is making sure the child feels as loved and cared for with me as they would with their own parents. Making sure the child is safe and watched over as if they were my own.
My experience with special needs children...
In my daycare experience, I did not have any special needs children. In my own experience, I have a little brother who is on the spectrum for Autism. He is quite closed off and only enjoys certain things. When sitting him, I try to make sure that the things we do together are something that he would enjoy, even if he may not be used to it, just to get him out of his comfort zone. I am 100% open to nannying special needs children, every child deserves to be loved and cared for.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It was me and 4 other children and I had them for the day. I went to the store before hand and bought ice cream and a whole bunch of topping for there treat after dinner. After dinner, I set up everything to look like an ice cream/froyo shop! I took all of there orders and wrote them down on little sheets of paper. They really enjoyed the experience of feeling like they went to an ice cream shop when they didn't. I like to make sure we are still having fun and using our imaginations even when we are home.
