More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been volunteering in church nurseries since i was 13. Once I outgrew being a VBS participant I became a leader. I have volunteered at the Boys and Girls club. I also have family members who I have watched their little ones during big events including my own niece who is 11 months and my nephew who just turned 5. I also worked a job where I was teaching swimming lessons from babies to 11 year olds

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing outside being it going for walks or going to the park. For inside activities I love playing board games or other types of games and sometimes if parents permit I like to include the kids in any food making activites

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part for me is bonding with the parents actually. Oftentimes, especially with young children it’s hard for them to leave mom and/or dad and I’ve found that it helps if I feel comfortable with the parent and then the kid will feel a little bit more comfortable too.

My experience with special needs children...

I don’t have a lot of experience. I did teach a child who was on the spectrum when I was teaching swimming lessons and my biggest take away was that it really helped me with my patience. You have to have patience when working with children in general which I have always had but to be able to work with a small child on the spectrum taught me a whole different form of patience that I had not even thought about before which was really informative for me

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was on a missions trip with my youth group to Alaska and while we were there we got to do a VBS and it was only five days but at the end I got a picture that my group of kids had drawn for me to take back home to Wisconsin! Too cute!
