My experience with special needs children...
Caring for children with special needs has been one of the most rewarding and growth-inducing aspects of my professional career. My hands-on experience includes providing comprehensive, specialized care for a 12-year-old boy with severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and significant cognitive, communication and developmental delays, functioning developmentally at around a 5-year-old level.
While this role was incredibly challenging, it allowed me to grow immensely, it taught me the true meaning of patience, deep empathy, and adaptive care. Love and patience are the answer, a clear schedule is key!
