More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked with a children's daycare/club in Thailand, where I entertain children of all ages while also teaching them useful life skills and improving their use of English. I have volunteered to help take care of children during service on Sundays, and at PTO meetings and school events at my local elementary school. I am also the eldest grandchild of my close-knit asian family and have always been given the responsibility of caring for my younger relatives during the holidays.

I love outdoor activities during the summer, but will always enjoy quality times indoors!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is not only to occupy the children's time and keep them safe but teach them life skills and values that are not taught in school through thoughtful conversation. I understand that sometimes parents and teachers don't always have the time to cater to a child's emotional needs due to their busy schedule, so it is important for me to make sure that there is always someone there for the child to confide in and feel safe with.

My experience with special needs children...

I was very involved with the special need's program during high school and spent a semester aiding a special need's math class. I also have family who works with sheltered living, so I have many experiences from volunteering with them for events.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I was told that a girl I was babysitting normally struggles with getting along with nannies and other children my age, but that she loved having me as her nanny. She was an adopted Asian girl in a white family, and in a predominately white area, and loved that there was someone that was also Asian like her to confide in. I was able to teach her a few Korean alphabets to my limiting knoweldge, which made her very happy. She drew a painting of us and called me her Asian sister, which I still keep with me to this very day. I was very sad that covid has cut my nanny time with her short.
