Hi there!

My name is Malia and I am a first-year student at the University of Michigan studying Biology on the pre-med track. I have a lot of experience working with infants and toddlers, but I have watched kids of all ages. I also have experience care-taking for children who have disabilities.

I absolutely adore kids, so much so that I am planning to specialize in pediatrics after attending medical school. I truly love working with young kids, and I approach each child as an individual who I get to help grow and flourish.

Also, I am planning on becoming first aid and CPR certified before the start of the summer.

I was the lead coordinator of an after-school camp for kindergarten through fourth grade sponsored by my high school's chapter of National Honor Society. My fellow NHS members and I were responsible for the safety of over fifty children at a time and ensured they ate lunch, were well-behaved, and had plenty of fun activities to choose from.

My experience with special needs children...

I have volunteered at a camp for children with disabilities for the last few summers and have been an occasional caretaker/companion for children on the autism spectrum. I also have experience working with children who have down-syndrome.
