A little bit about me

Hello, I am the eldest of six kids and from the Midwest. My family lived on my grandmothers farm in Blue Valley, Ohio. We started moving around when I was 8. My father was in the Air Force. I have lived in some very interesting and wonderful place. I was a nanny for a wonderful family of 3 kids for 7 1/2 years. I raised two kids of my own.kids. I have a college degree and served 4 1/2 years in the Nebraska national guard. I had my first child while working and handled all 4 kids. The youngest child that I nannied for was adopted from Korea. Mother was a doctor and dad was an attorney. Wonderful family. The only reason I quit was I wanted to have a second child. I love animals, museums, zoos, cooking , walking, Pilates reformer classes, sewing, and playing with children. Always ready for an adventure. Caring for a future generation is a privilege and helping a family care for their children is rewarding.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

All through out my teen years I specialized in baby sitting boys, because I had 3 brothers. I worked full time in the summers from 11 to 16 baby sitting. My degree is in community services with an emphasis on families and children. I even baby sat a lot in college. I taught Sunday school for years with kindergartners while in high school. My assistant and I kept them busy and they had fun learning the lesson plans prepared for us. We sang a lot of the lessons so they would remember the key lesson of each Sunday class. I would be the only nanny in the neighbor hood with combat support training. I am good in emergencies and how to protect. Safety and vigilance is key to making sure kids are protected and always supervised. I did mostly administration work in the national guard, but our primary mission was natural disaster relief work and practicing Marshall law protocol. Our combat support job if activated was mortuary services support. Get soldiers back to their families.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Field trips to the zoo, natural history museum. Trips to the park just getting out to enjoy the fresh air and keep moving. I like crafts, puzzles, reading is a passion. I love to go to the library and story time is the best. I love rocking a baby and humming and singing to them. I am an average singer, but try real hard. I want to make sure they are safe and supervised as they learn and explore the world around them. Of course it’s all about what the parents want and the kids interests. Children absorb different things and have preferences. If you listen they tell you what they want and need. As long as mom and dad approve we follow where they want to go. I am easy going and always ready to learn and experience something new. Babies are wonderful and get even more amazing as they grow and learn. I like to learn the rhythm and pace a kid sets. With multiple kids you take everyone in to consideration and work it together to learn to get along. Everyone gets heard that way.
