I was a volunteer for the Justice Desk in South Africa where we worked with children aged 3 to 17.

I have the mind of a child, I will build couch tents, we will discover a little bit of nature, and do many fun activities and games! I also like to encourage children to learn, not by telling them "sit down and do your homework" but explaining the ways in which theoretical learning relates to the real world, helping them see the magic of what they are truly learning.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being able to come across as a trustworthy person is the most important part of being a nanny. You are not asking somebody to watch your car, or your house, or your purse, you are asking somebody to take care of your children. So many people have evil in their hearts, that it is truly terrifying knowing who to trust. This is why I insist, if I am hired and the parents or the children do not feel comfortable or safe with me, I will immediately step out of the picture. I am not here to cause you or your family problems, I am merely seeking a job the way you are merely seeking a service. But, as long as another life is under my supervision and care, I will give my all to ensure, before all else, the safety of your children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One time I came into the house and found the two girls playing with their dolls and toys, so I say to them "okay, gather it all up, we are going to give those toys to the firemen so they can give them to all the children who don't have toys". The girls stared at me blankly for one second before gathering all their toys and handing them to me. When I tried to explain that I was only kidding, that they could keep their toys, they insisted and insisted until I had to pretend to take them, but I just hid them back in their closets! It was one of the purest forms of unconditional love that I have seen!
