I love being outside. I love the park. I love coloring and drawing. I love to sing and be silly. I am a master hide and seek champion, and most children can’t resist my cooking or baking.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Having patience. Making sure that the nanny understands the parenting style and respects how any discipline is followed through per the parent. I think time outs work well, but I am very openminded. I am very big on manners, and I love helping children remember to say please, thank you, your welcome, and make sure they share and play well with others.
My experience with special needs children...
I have no cared for any special needs children outside of the hospital, but I was allowed to care for young adults as well as adults with special needs in the ICU. I have a tremendous amount of patience.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I had been nannying for three little kiddos this last month. 3 yr old boy, 4 year old girl with a school aged sister of 11. The oldest of the three, after seeing me come and go for a week, turned to her mom on the way to shook one day and said, “Mom, when do I get to hang out with Maria? It’s not fair, they get to hang out with her all day!” I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know that sweet family.
