Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've always enjoyed caring for children and began nannying in college. Later I coached learners on their executive functioning skills. I focused on neurodivergent minds, 2x exceptional, individuals w/ intellectual disabilities, TBI patients, and more.
I attained my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education for Diverse Learners as well as my professional teaching license.
During the pandemic I was an at home pod teacher helping children w/ e-learning programs & later as a classroom teacher with Arlington County Public Schools.
As an empathetic, enthusiastic, & personable educator I love the curious minds of children & find it contagious. I jump on teachable moments as they occur to help kids broaden their world perception & connect to real life experiences.
I curated my various skills-set through my professional roles and environments. This provides me w/ a unique teaching approach & help children acquire valuable real life skills & advance functions of all developmental domains.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love working with kids in all capacities. My specialty is social emotional learning and I may get the basis of all my classrooms. I find a fulfilling when I can help children navigate conflict, improve communication skills, learn how to take up space & make space for others. I I enjoy carrying out unique and impactful lesson plans cross-connect subjects and allow children to learn together while welcoming different perspectives and finding commonality in their diversity. I love putting together active learning challenges that are usually kinesthetic to master concepts. I also prioritize time in nature and guiding students through yoga and meditation and explaining direct benefits so that they fully understand why we do what we do and at the same time learn how to self-regulate.

The most important part about being a nanny...

In my view, the cornerstone of effective nannying stems from fostering a safe, nurturing, and consistent environment where children feel secure, appreciated, and seen. When children experience emotional support and understanding, they are empowered to grow with confidence, explore their surroundings, and cultivate new skills.
Additionally, I believe that establishing and maintaining open lines of communication with parents is critical. Aligning on routines, expectations, and developmental objectives creates a sense of stability for the child. Ultimately, my role transcends supervision; I strive to be a reliable and positive influence in a child’s everyday life.

My experience with special needs children...

For 6 years I worked as a brain trainer at LearningRx and my clients were 90% neurodivergent learners, others had learning differences or intellectual disabilities. I had many that were twice exceptional and needed support if their executive functioning to reach their potential and demonstrate extensive intelligence while building their confidence.
