A little bit about me

Hello there! I'm a 23 year old female living in the Phoenix area with extensive experience working with children.
After high school, I nannied for two families as-needed, and worked as a travel nanny over the summer.

Most of my experience with children comes from working in after school programs, summer camps, and in-school enrichment programs for the last few years throughout the Phoenix area.

I love cooking and coming up with creative, healthy meal prep ideas, and I've worked in kitchens and restaurants. I am a vegetarian, but very laid back and happy to cook meat for your family if needed.

I also have experience cleaning professionally for a bed and breakfast, so I don't mind doing light household tasks.

I am most comfortable working with older children, as I have little experience with those under the age of 1.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have taught at various summer camps, after school programs, and in-school programs for kids. These programs were mainly centered around STEM education and creative expression.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading, music, LEGOs, baking, making slime/playdough, drawing, arts and crafts, stop motion animation, playing at the park

The most important part about being a nanny...

As we are learning more about the developing mind, we are discovering the keys to creating healthy, happy kids. In busy families, a nanny's most important role is to create those stable conditions that children will thrive in.

To me, this means fostering an environment of acceptance, positive reinforcement, active listening, communication, attentiveness, and encouragement.

My experience with special needs children...

In my classes, camps, and after-school programs, I've had children with various conditions like autism, ADHD, dyslexia, tourettes, speech impediments, etc. I am happy to work with these kids, so long as I have the resources needed to care for them, and they are not a danger to themselves or others. (Unfortunately I have been in a situation like this, despite the fact that it is unpleasant to have to specify this.)

The most important part about being a nanny...

There have been so many! My favorite moments are when I see a child achieve something they previously couldn't, like walking, talking, finishing meals, etc.
